The Eclectic School of Herbal Medicine hosts a student-led free clinic based in Lowgap, NC. In-person, Skype, and phone consultations are available on Fridays at 10 AM. If this time doesn’t work for you, we are usually able to accommodate alternate days/times.

Our students are trained in Traditional Western Herbal Medicine, Clinical Nutrition, and Functional Medicine.  This means that you will receive diet, lifestyle, herbal, and nutritional support in a safe and comfortable environment.  Students are equipped to handle many ailments, from acute illnesses to chronic degenerative issues such as autoimmunity.

The clinic is supervised by staff herbalists Lindsey Feldpausch and Mel Kasting, as well as Eclectic School director and lead instructor Thomas Easley. Thomas reviews each case with students in class roundtables each week, and works with them to create effective programs for clients.

The consultation process is as follows. Once you have scheduled an appointment with us, you must fill out a completed intake form, including your 3-day food diary, and bring it with you to the appointment or send it via email or posted mail prior to your appointment.

The initial consultation usually lasts between 1-2 hours and is done by up to three of our current students. This first session is an information gathering session. The students may make initial recommendations, but the full health plan will not be presented until the first follow-up appointment.

Once your initial consultation is finished, we will ask you to schedule a follow-up appointment for the next week. During this follow-up appointment our students will give you a detailed plan, along with herbs to help you on your path to health.

The consultation and herbs are free of charge for your initial appointment. While we provide the initial herbs for you, if there is any supplementation outside of herbs it will be your fiscal responsibility to obtain those supplements.

Any refills on herbs will have a minimal charge to cover costs. We ask for a sliding scale donation of $0 – $20 per tincture bottle, tea bag, salve, etc. Any donations may be made to support our clinic and will be utilized to continue serving others to achieve their health goals.
